New York State Senate 59
Earlier this year, NYS Senator Dale Volker (R), who had represented the 59th District with an anti-civil rights voting record for the last 38 years, stepped down to avoid a primary challenge from the former chair of the Erie County Republican Party.
Since his decision, other Republican candidates emerged to crowd the field considerably for their primary. There is only one candidate running for the Democratic line in the primary, and will face the winner of the Republican primary in November's general election. That person is Cynthia Appleton, a public servant with experience that includes 3 terms as a village trustee in Warsaw. Appleton is currently unable to attend our upcoming meeting on July 27, due to the distance of her district from our meeting place and the duties of campaigning out in said district. She has enthusiastically asked to be considered for SDWNY's endorsement, and has submitted the following questionnaire to be considered at our meeting on Tuesday. Copies will be provided at the meeting, but you may read her questionnaire here: |
